No. Write, organize, track canon and promises manually, compare drafts, use review rooms, and compile without an AI key. Optional AI tools use your own OpenAI or Anthropic connection. AI suggestions remain proposals until you choose to apply them. Inline Revision Review lets you accept or reject individual changes. Story Health findings are review cues, and Adaptation Lab accepts work into a separate target project.
Yes. Create an independent alternate copy, then develop its new direction. Compare drafts, select the changes you want, and preview the result before bringing them back. Creating a copy does not automatically rewrite the story. Creation and comparison need a connection but no AI key.
Choose a scene, chapter, selected scenes, or a supported manuscript scope. Evidence-only checks review items such as repeated text and stale receipts; optional AI checks look for possible continuity, character-knowledge, setup, and pacing concerns. Findings cite passages for you to inspect.
Scope previews and coverage information show what can be checked and what has been completed. Larger drafts may need smaller scopes. Findings support your judgment; a completed check does not guarantee that every issue has been detected.
Adaptation Lab works with selected scenes in batches. Set a brief, review a written or AI-generated proposal against the saved source, and accept scenes into a separate linked project. Your source manuscript stays independent.
Table Read is for screenplays. Assign character and narrator voices, follow highlighted lines, and leave revision notes you can reopen in the editor.
Readers and editors see the selected review edition you share. Readers comment; editors can also propose changes. You decide what reaches the manuscript. Private planning and canon are not included in the review edition.
Yes. Import writing and research, organize the manuscript into chapters and scenes, and export novels as PDF, Word, or EPUB. Screenplay projects support screenplay PDF output.
After an online visit, the most recently cached workspace supports writing and selected saved story tools. Device edits sync when you reconnect. AI generation, new story scans, review rooms, draft management, and compilation need a connection; offline access depends on what is already saved on that device.
